Aging Prepared is a group of free resources designed to help older adults and their families prepare to age at home.

Aging Prepared offers essential information and actionable steps you can take now.

How Aging Prepared Works

Aging Prepared is anchored around guided workshops adaptable to various settings, including one-on-one consultations, small group gatherings, or larger presentations and webinars. During our workshops, Educators provide participants with valuable insights about aging at home versus relocating to a senior living community.

We also explore the events that may lead to needing more care support, offering guidance on how to be prepared for these events and how to manage them effectively. Finally, we discuss potential first steps participants can take to ensure they feel prepared and confident about their ability to age at home.

Our Why:
The Aging Prepared Story

With over a decade of experience in non-medical in-home care at Commonwise Home Care, we've seen many families realize that they need personal care, and haven't planned for it. While many people have made legal, financial, and healthcare preparations, planning for personal care needs often remains unaddressed until it becomes urgent.

Our Aging Prepared Workshop, workbook, and planning model aim to fill this critical gap. Aging Prepared focuses on essential but less-understood aspects of aging, such as where to age and which care systems are there to help. Aging Prepared provides targeted insights and tools to help you and your loved ones make informed decisions, reducing stress and uncertainty about the future.

Thank you for allowing us to support you in this crucial part of your planning. We look forward to guiding you through these important considerations.

In Their Words

  • My sisters and I, along with our mom and dad, attended a ReadyCare workshop led by a Commonwise Educator. Initially, we thought we were planning for the future, but we quickly realized the immediate benefits. When Dad had a fall, we were well-prepared to navigate his hospitalization and organize the follow up care he needed at home.

    — Session Participant

  • My wife and I attended a ReadyCare webinar hosted by our concierge medicine practice, and it was incredibly beneficial. The session was well-organized and informative, providing us with valuable insights and practical steps for preparing to age at home. Shortly after the webinar, we found ourselves better equipped to handle unexpected medical situations and coordinate care more effectively. And the ReadyCare membership program has given us peace of mind and a clear plan for to remain in our home in the future.
