As the chief talent officer for Coronal Energy, Jonathan Baker is involved in talent deployment across the spectrum of activities for an intelligently financed, solidly built and efficiently operated solar energy facility. He has worked in the renewable energy space for more than a decade, developing growth strategies and enabling them with gifted, talented people.
At HelioSage, a company Jonathan co-founded in 2008 (and acquired by Coronal Energy in 2015), he navigated the company from a startup to a nationally recognized solar project developer in under four years. He was a lead investor in Greenlight Energy, the wind energy development firm that sold to BP in 2006. There, he served on its board of advisors and helped identify and recruit talent for the enterprise.
Before his involvement in the renewable energy sector, Jonathan held positions as vice president and managing director at the Advisory Board Company and its spin-off, the Corporate Executive Board Company, which went public in 1999.
Jonathan is also an active investor in developing countries and communities. In Ethiopia he’s involved in mentoring entrepreneurs in a variety of business sectors. In the former Soviet Union, he focused on child welfare, matching U.S. child-specialists to their Russian counterparts for mentoring. He holds degrees in English and economics from the University of Virginia.
